James is a Partner at the firm who joined in Spring 2017 and is recognized as an Agribusiness industry expert with 35 years of experience in lending and investing. James brings a potent relationship network of Agribusiness companies and investors to Triton and is a trusted capital and advisor resource who has cultivated strong relationships with an array of private and institutional Agribusiness investors. His former client roster ranges from Fortune 500 and publicly held businesses to middle market family and privately held businesses.

James has held senior executive leadership positions for the Food and Agriculture Groups at some of the largest US-based financial institutions, including Wells Fargo Bank, US Bank, CIT and Fifth Third Bank. Throughout his career, he has utilized his knowledge and experience to successfully structure and underwrite complex transactions to meet client needs. James has worked with virtually all Agribusiness sectors and has brought a unique skill set and commitment to his clients that have allowed them to capitalize on the opportunities and navigate challenges in the various Agribusiness industry sectors.

James received a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Illinois-Chicago. He has been a member of various industry groups such as the National Grain and Feed Association, the National Chicken Council, the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, CattleFax, 21st Century Pork Club, Informa Economics, the Association for Corporate Growth and the Commercial Finance Association.
